Arachnids

✨ Eight agile legs

Arachnids are a group of invertebrate animals that includes spiders, scorpions, ticks, and mites. They belong to the group of arthropods, animals with a hard outer covering called an exoskeleton and jointed legs.

Unlike insects, which usually have six legs and a body divided into three main parts, arachnids generally have eight legs and two main body regions. Most arachnids are predators that feed on small animals, although some species have different diets or lifestyles.

Many arachnids use special adaptations to survive in a wide range of environments, from forests and deserts to freshwater areas and human surroundings. Spiders, for example, can produce silk used to build webs, protect their eggs, or create shelters.

Scorpions have pincers and a tail equipped with a venomous stinger that helps them capture prey and defend themselves. Although some arachnids can affect humans through bites or the spread of diseases, most species are harmless and play important roles in ecosystems by controlling populations of insects and other small organisms.
