Blockchain

✨ The unfalsifiable registry

Blockchain is a technology that allows information to be stored and shared across a network of computers in a secure and organized way. It works by recording data in groups called blocks, which are linked together in a chronological chain. Each block contains information and a unique reference that helps protect the integrity of the entire chain.

Because copies of the blockchain can be stored on many computers in the network, changing recorded information becomes much more difficult without the agreement of the system participants. Blockchain was first widely known through cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, which use this technology to record digital transactions without relying on a central authority.

However, its applications extend beyond digital currencies. It can be used to track products in supply chains, verify documents, manage digital records, or support certain automated agreements called smart contracts.

Despite its potential, blockchain also faces challenges, including energy consumption for some systems, technical complexity, and questions about regulation and security. Careful design is necessary to ensure that blockchain solutions are reliable and useful.
