Braces

✨ The Architect of Your Smile

Dental braces are orthodontic devices used to correct the position of teeth and, in some cases, the alignment of the jaws. They work by applying gentle, continuous pressure that gradually moves the teeth through the jawbone. Treatment may be recommended for crowded, spaced, rotated, or crooked teeth, as well as for bite problems such as overbites, underbites, crossbites, or open bites.

Traditional braces use small brackets attached to the teeth and connected by a metal wire that is adjusted regularly. Other options include ceramic braces, which are less noticeable, and clear removable aligners, which can treat many, though not all, orthodontic problems. The most suitable treatment depends on each person's needs and is planned by an orthodontist.

Orthodontic treatment can improve chewing, speech, oral hygiene, and long-term dental health, in addition to enhancing the appearance of the smile. Teeth may feel sore for a few days after adjustments because they are responding to the pressure, but this discomfort is usually temporary. Good brushing and flossing are especially important during treatment because food and dental plaque can collect around the appliances.

Some patients also need to avoid very hard or sticky foods that could damage the braces. After the active treatment ends, most people wear a retainer to help keep the teeth in their new positions and reduce the risk of them gradually shifting back over time.
