Composting

✨ The Recipe for Earth

Composting is a natural process that transforms organic waste, such as fruit and vegetable scraps, leaves or grass, into a material called compost. This transformation is carried out by living organisms, including bacteria, fungi and small soil creatures, which break down organic matter over time.

To work properly, compost needs a balance between different elements, enough moisture and good air circulation. Compost is rich in nutrients and can be used to improve soil quality in gardens and agricultural areas.

By turning organic waste into a useful resource, composting helps reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and supports natural cycles. A compost pile can be created at home or managed on a larger scale by communities and organizations.

However, not all waste belongs in compost: items such as plastics, chemicals and some treated materials should be avoided to maintain healthy compost.
