Hydration

✨ Water is Life

Hydration is the process of providing the body with enough water to maintain its normal functions. Water makes up more than half of an adult's body weight and is essential for regulating body temperature, transporting nutrients, removing waste, lubricating joints and supporting countless chemical reactions inside cells.

Although drinking water is the main source of hydration, fluids also come from other beverages and from foods with a high water content, such as fruits, vegetables and soups. Daily water needs vary according to age, body size, physical activity, climate, health conditions and other individual factors, so there is no single amount that is appropriate for everyone.

Listening to thirst and drinking regularly throughout the day are practical ways to stay hydrated. Even mild dehydration can reduce physical performance, make it harder to concentrate and increase feelings of fatigue. More severe dehydration may lead to dizziness, rapid heartbeat and other health problems that require medical attention.

During hot weather, illness or prolonged exercise, the body loses more water through sweat, breathing or fever, making additional fluid intake necessary. For most healthy people, plain water is the best choice for everyday hydration, while sugary drinks should be consumed in moderation. Maintaining good hydration is a simple habit that supports the normal functioning of the brain, muscles, kidneys and many other organs throughout life.
