Motorcycle
✨ The stallion of the roads
A motorcycle is a two-wheeled motor vehicle designed to transport one or more people. Unlike a bicycle, it uses an engine for propulsion, although some modern motorcycles are powered by electric motors. Most motorcycles have a frame, two wheels, suspension, brakes, steering controls and an engine or electric motor. In a conventional motorcycle, the engine's power reaches the rear wheel through a transmission and a chain, belt or shaft.
The rider changes direction with the handlebar and, especially at higher speeds, leans the motorcycle into a turn. This leaning helps maintain balance as the motorcycle follows a curved path. There are many types of motorcycles, including road, touring, off-road and competition models, each designed for different uses. Safety depends on both the motorcycle and the rider.
Brakes reduce speed, while tyres provide grip on the road. Suspension helps keep the wheels in contact with the ground and improves control on uneven surfaces. Modern motorcycles may also include electronic systems such as anti-lock braking and traction control. These systems can assist the rider but cannot replace careful driving.
Motorcycles are generally lighter and narrower than cars, which can make them practical in congested areas, but they provide less protection to the rider in a collision. Appropriate protective equipment and respect for traffic rules are therefore essential. Motorcycles are used for everyday travel, work, leisure and sport, and are available in many sizes and designs.
