Novel
✨ Journey into the Imaginary
A novel is a long fictional narrative written in prose that tells a story through characters, events and settings. Unlike shorter forms such as the short story, a novel usually has enough space to develop complex plots, detailed descriptions and characters whose personalities can change over time.
Novels can explore many subjects and genres, including adventure, romance, mystery, historical fiction, science fiction and social themes. Through invented stories, they often examine human relationships, emotions and the societies in which people live.
The modern novel developed mainly in Europe between the 17th and 18th centuries, although earlier works with similar characteristics existed in different cultures. One of the works often considered an important milestone in the history of the novel is Miguel de Cervantes’ "Don Quixote", published in the early 17th century.
Since then, the novel has become one of the most widely read literary forms around the world. Writers use it to create imaginary worlds, describe personal experiences and explore ideas about human nature, making the novel an important form of artistic and cultural expression.
