Nurse
✨ The Healing Angel
A nurse is a healthcare professional who helps care for people who are ill, injured, recovering, or living with a long-term condition. Nurses work in hospitals, clinics, health centers, schools, nursing homes, and sometimes at home.
Depending on their training and role, they check vital signs such as temperature, pulse, breathing rate, and blood pressure; give prescribed medicines; change dressings; help with hygiene and mobility; and watch for changes in a patient’s condition. They may also assist with examinations, vaccination, health education, and emergency care.
Nurses record important observations and the care provided so that the healthcare team can follow the patient’s condition safely. Nursing is not limited to medical procedures. A nurse listens to patients, explains care in clear language, answers questions, and helps protect their comfort, privacy, and dignity.
Nurses work with doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals, sharing useful information to support continuous care. The profession requires scientific knowledge, observation, communication, organization, and respect for professional rules. Responsibilities vary by country, qualification, workplace, and clinical setting. Safe nursing practice also includes following infection-prevention measures and procedures designed to protect both patients and healthcare workers.
