Pasta

✨ The festival of shapes

Pasta is a food made mainly from durum wheat semolina and water, although some varieties also contain eggs or other ingredients. It comes in many shapes and sizes, such as spaghetti, penne, lasagna sheets and many others, each suited to different sauces and cooking methods.

The dough is usually mixed, shaped and dried before being cooked in boiling water. Its simple ingredients, long shelf life and versatility have made pasta a widely consumed food around the world.

Although foods made from grain dough existed in many ancient cultures, pasta became strongly associated with Italian cuisine over centuries. Different regions of Italy developed their own shapes and traditional recipes, often using local ingredients.

Today, pasta is a central element of Italian gastronomy and is also part of many international cuisines. It can be served with sauces made from tomatoes, cheese, vegetables, meat, seafood or other ingredients, reflecting the diversity of culinary traditions and the ability of this food to adapt to different cultures.
