Touch

✨ Skin Sensations

Touch is one of the body’s main senses. It allows us to detect contact, pressure, temperature, vibrations, and certain types of pain. This information is collected by many tiny receptors located in the skin, especially in areas such as the fingertips, lips, and face, which are more sensitive than other parts of the body.

When these receptors are stimulated, they send electrical messages through nerves to the brain, where the sensations are interpreted. Thanks to touch, we can explore our environment, recognize objects without seeing them, and adjust our movements with greater precision.

The sense of touch also plays an important role in human relationships and protection. A gentle touch can communicate affection or support, while the sensation of heat or sharp pain can warn us of possible danger. The skin is constantly providing information about our surroundings, helping the body react quickly when needed.

Although touch is often associated only with the skin, it also involves deeper tissues, muscles, and joints, which provide information about the position and movement of the body. Together, these systems help us understand the world around us and interact with it every day.
