Tractor
✨ The field's power
A tractor is a motor vehicle designed mainly for agricultural work and for pulling or operating equipment. Most agricultural tractors have large rear wheels, smaller front wheels and a powerful engine that provides high torque at relatively low speeds. This makes it possible to pull heavy implements and work on difficult ground.
Many tractors have a three-point hitch at the rear, which allows compatible tools such as plows, cultivators or mowers to be attached and raised. Some models also have a power take-off, or PTO, which transfers mechanical power from the tractor’s engine to certain implements. Tractors can have two-wheel or four-wheel drive, and their size and configuration vary according to the jobs they are intended to perform.
A tractor does not usually perform one single task. By changing the attached equipment, it can help prepare soil, sow crops, mow vegetation, transport materials or carry out other agricultural operations. Modern tractors may include hydraulic systems that control attached tools, as well as electronic systems for monitoring the engine, guiding the vehicle or improving fuel efficiency.
Some large models can use satellite-based guidance to follow precise paths across fields, reducing unnecessary overlap between passes. Tractors are also used outside agriculture for forestry, construction, road maintenance and other types of work. Because they combine a powerful engine with interchangeable equipment, tractors have become versatile machines for tasks that require pulling force, controlled movement and the ability to operate on uneven terrain.
