Triangle

✨ The power of three

A triangle is a flat geometric shape made of three straight sides. These sides meet at three points called vertices, forming three angles. The total of the three interior angles of any triangle is always 180 degrees. Triangles can have sides of different lengths or, in some cases, equal lengths.

Their simple structure makes them useful for understanding many ideas in geometry, such as length, angle, symmetry, and area. A triangle can be drawn by joining three points that are not all on the same straight line. The segments connecting these points form its three sides, while the region enclosed by them is the inside of the triangle.

Triangles can be classified in several ways. According to their sides, an equilateral triangle has three equal sides, an isosceles triangle has two equal sides, and a scalene triangle has three sides of different lengths. They can also be grouped according to their angles.

A right triangle has one angle measuring exactly 90 degrees, an acute triangle has three angles smaller than 90 degrees, and an obtuse triangle has one angle greater than 90 degrees. Triangles appear in many practical and scientific contexts because their three-sided structure can provide stability. They are used in bridges, roofs, frameworks, signs, drawings, and computer graphics. In mathematics, they are also fundamental for studying more complex geometric shapes.
