Vampire
✨ The shadow of the night
Vampires are legendary creatures found in the folklore of many cultures, especially in Eastern Europe. They are usually described as beings that return from the dead and survive by drinking the blood or life energy of living creatures. Stories about vampires existed in different forms for centuries, with some of the best-known traditions developing in regions such as the Balkans.
These beliefs were often connected to fears about death, unexplained illnesses, and the changes that occur to a body after burial. Vampires are mythical figures and there is no scientific evidence that such creatures exist. The modern image of the vampire was shaped largely by literature and popular culture.
The novel "Dracula" by Bram Stoker, published in 1897, played an important role in creating many of the characteristics associated with vampires today, such as their connection with castles, darkness, and immortality. Earlier legends, however, included different ideas about these creatures, and not all vampires were described in the same way.
Today, vampires appear in books, films, television series, and games, where they can be represented as frightening monsters, mysterious characters, or even complex heroes. Their lasting popularity shows how myths continue to evolve with human imagination.
