Yacht

✨ The palace of the seas

A yacht is a boat or ship designed mainly for recreation, leisure, or private travel rather than for transporting goods commercially. Yachts can be powered by engines, sails, or a combination of both, and they range from relatively small vessels to large ocean-going ships. Motor yachts use one or more engines to turn propellers, while sailing yachts use the force of the wind acting on their sails, often assisted by an engine when necessary.

Their hulls are designed to float and move efficiently through water, while the shape and weight distribution help provide stability. Depending on its size and design, a yacht may include cabins, a kitchen, bathrooms, storage areas, and spaces for outdoor activities. Operating a yacht requires understanding basic navigation, weather conditions, and safety procedures.

The person in charge must be able to control the vessel, follow navigation rules, and avoid hazards such as shallow water, rocks, or other vessels. Navigation can rely on charts, compasses, satellite positioning systems, radar, and other electronic equipment. Yachts also need equipment such as life jackets, communication devices, fire protection, and emergency supplies, with requirements varying according to the vessel and local regulations.

Some yachts are used for short coastal trips, while others are designed for longer journeys at sea. Although yachts are often associated with luxury, the word primarily describes a type of recreational vessel and does not by itself indicate a particular size, price, or level of comfort.
