Yeti

✨ The abominable snowman

The Yeti is a legendary creature said to live in the high mountains of the Himalayas, especially in regions such as Nepal and Tibet. It is often described as a large, human-like being covered with hair and adapted to cold, isolated environments. Stories about the Yeti come from local traditions, where it is sometimes known by different names, including "Meh-Teh" in some Himalayan cultures.

Although the Yeti is often compared to the idea of a giant unknown ape, there is no scientific evidence proving that such a creature exists. Some reported sightings and footprints have been explained as possible traces of known animals, such as bears.

The legend of the Yeti became widely known around the world during the 20th century, especially after explorers and mountaineers reported possible encounters in the Himalayas. In 1951, photographs of large footprints taken during an expedition to Mount Everest increased public interest, although later explanations suggested they could have been made by ordinary animals.

Over time, the Yeti became a popular figure in books, documentaries, films, and adventure stories. Today, it remains a symbol of mystery and exploration, representing the human curiosity about places that are difficult to reach and the unknown creatures that might inhabit them.
